    Basic Definitions and Properties of POE and POP
    POE (polyethylene-polyether copolymer) is a thermoplastic elastomeric material with excellent ageing resistance, flow and processability, and excellent toughness. It is commonly used in automotive, construction, packaging, toughening agents, etc.
    POP (Polyolefin Plastomer) is a copolymer obtained by polymerising ethylene or propylene as the main polymerisation unit and α-olefin as the copolymerising monomer.POP has a lower copolymerising monomer content and higher density, and is characterised by a better thermal viscosity, anti-pollution heat sealing, toughness, and resistance to tearing.
     
    The main difference between POE and POP
    The main difference between POE and POP is the copolymer content, which is higher than 20% for POE and less than 20% for POP. Due to the difference in copolymer content, POE has lower density and better weathering and aging resistance, while POP has higher density and better toughness. In addition, POE has a wide range of applications in plastic modification, while POP is more suitable for film preparation and heat sealing layers.
     
    Application areas of POE and POP
    - Application fields of POE: POE is mainly used in plastic modification, automotive parts, photovoltaic sealing film and shoe foam. As a toughening agent, it can greatly improve the impact resistance of plastics such as polypropylene (PP).
    - Application areas of POP: POP is mainly used in the fields of food packaging, hygiene and medical treatment, elastic film and personal care. It is suitable for blown film, extrusion, casting with heat sealing layer, with low starting sealing temperature, good thermal viscosity, anti-pollution heat sealing, toughness and tear resistance.
