LG Lucene SP988 mHDPE Description

Lucene SP988 is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material produced by LG Chem specifically for pipe manufacturing. It offers excellent food contact safety, high-temperature resistance, and high-pressure resistance, and can be used to manufacture underfloor heating pipes, drinking water pipes, and PE-RT Type II pipes.

LG Lucene SP988 mHDPE Advantage

PE RT Type Ⅱ material, LG Lucene 988 was developed specifically for the production of hot-water pipes. It offers excellent heat resistance and, compared to the LG SP980 in the same series, has superior pressure resistance. It can be used to manufacture PE-RT Type II pipes for underfloor heating and drinking water systems.

Food grade HDPE. LG SP988 HDPE material has obtained the relevant certifications under FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for food contact and NSF Standard 61 for drinking water contact materials. It offers excellent safety performance and can be used to manufacture drinking water pipes.
Good flexibility. The LG SP988 utilizes metallocene catalytic technology, giving the material greater flexibility compared to conventional PE 100 HDPE. With a flexural modulus of 6,400 MPa kgf/cm², it can be easily bent and twisted in hot-water piping applications without damage, making it particularly suitable for the production of underfloor heating pipes that require coiling.
