1. What is Zytel？
Zytel is a world-renowned brand of engineering nylon plastics, originally developed by DuPont and now owned by Celanese Corporation. Zytel encompasses a wide range of polyamide materials, including PA6, PA66, PA66/6, PA610, PA612, PPA, and specialty high-temperature nylon materials.

2. Zytel Nylon Brand Categories
Zytel is a generic term for a class of high-performance nylons, which also includes the Zytel HTN high-temperature nylon series.
2.1 Zytel Nyon standard Series
The standard Zytel Nyon series follows the following naming convention:

The first digit in Zytel's designation represents different categories of nylon base materials, as shown in the table below

2.1.3 Zytel nylon glass fiber filled code meaning
The codes for glass fiber-reinforced nylon materials are relatively easy to identify. The "G" indicates the addition of short glass fibers, and the two-digit number following the "G" generally represents the weight percentage of glass fibers in the material. For example, Zytel 70G35HSL refers to 35% glass fibers PA66 reinforced (GF35 PA66).
2.1.4 Zytel nylon Suffix code meaning
Since the requirements for nylon vary across different applications, it is necessary to add appropriate additives to the material to improve its properties. Common additive suffixes include:
- L: Lubricant; the material contains an internal lubricant designed to improve the surface finish of the finished product, reduce material residue in the mold, and enhance flow rate. For example, Zytel 101L PA66.
- HS: High-temperature stabilizer, used to improve a material’s long-term heat resistance and thermal aging properties.
- HSL: High-temperature stabilizer + lubricant
- F:Release Agent，Used to increase processing speed and enable large-scale, high-speed processing
- W: Improved weather resistance
- V0: Fire retardancy (UL 94 V-0), Zytel FR7026V0
- V1: Fire retardancy (UL 94 V-1)
- R: Improved resistance to biodegradation or hydrolysis
- A: Reduced material residue in molds
- BL: Water heated moulding
2.1.5 Zytel nylon Prefix code meaning
Depending on the application, Zytel nylon has also been developed into materials with specific technical modifications, which are primarily indicated by prefix codes.
- MT: Semi toughened reinforcement
- ST: Super toughened, e.g., Zytel ST801
- FR: UL 94 V-0 high-efficiency flame-retardant, e.g., FR7025V0
- EMX or EMI: Electromagnetic shielding
- CDV: Antistatic
- WRF: Wear-resistant
- DMX: High-performance amorphous chemically modified PA66 resin
- TRA: Improved optical properties
2.2 Zytel HTN high temperatue Nyon Series
Zytel HTN nylon is available in four series: 51G, 52G, 53, and 54G. It is a semi-aromatic polyamide material and a high-temperature nylon (PPA material), making it particularly suitable for use in automotive engine parts, as well as electronic and electrical connectors. The 51G, 52G, and 54G grades are modified PA 6T materials.
- Zytel HTN51G: PA6T/XT, maintains excellent mechanical properties even at high temperatures
- Zytel HTN52G: PA6T/66, used in water heated tools. High resistance to heat, chemicals, and steam
