Celanese Santoprene 101-87 TPV Description
Santoprene 101-87 is a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) polymer manufactured by Celanese Corporation. It combines the flexibility and tactile feel of rubber with the ease of processing characteristic of thermoplastic resins. This material is a rigid TPV that offers high strength and tensile capacity, and is commonly used in household appliances, automotive applications, and cushioning and sealing components in the construction industry.

The Santoprene 101-87 thermoplastic vulcanized rubber we supply is manufactured by Celanese Engineering Plastics, a U.S.-based company.
As shown in the image on the left, Santoprene 101-87 TPV material consists of black, roughly ellipsoidal pellets. Please contact us if you require a custom color.
Celanese Santoprene 101-87 TPV Advantage
- High strength TPV, As the hardest material in the Santoprene 101 TPV series, 101-87 TPV has a Shore hardness of 94, gives it high strength and excellent fatigue resistance, with a tensile strength of 15.6 MPa, making it particularly suitable for applications involving long-term loading.
- Automotive certification, Santoprene 101-87 TPV material with its outstanding performance, has been certified by several automakers, including Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, and is approved for direct use in automotive applications.
- Good machinability. Santoprene 101-87 TPV has an elongation at break of 600% and a tear strength of 51 kN/m, and its flexibility is comparable to that of traditional vulcanized rubber, however, what sets it apart is that 101-87 TPV material can be used to produce seals with complex cross-sections using standard thermoplastic processing equipment.
