LyondellBasell Purell PE 3220D LDPE Description
Purell PE 3220D is a new-generation medical-grade low-density polyethylene (LDPE) material produced by LyondellBasell Holding B.V. specifically for Blow-Fill-Seal(BFS) technology. Compared to Purell PE 3020D LDPE, it can withstand higher sterilization temperatures and is suitable for a wider range of BFS applications. It offers significantly better physical and optical properties than the previous generation.

- BFS application material, LyondellBasell Purell 3220D LDPE is specifically designed and developed for blow-fill-seal medical applications, offering excellent mechanical properties and medical-grade safety.
- Medical grade plastic. LyondellBasell 3020D LDPE material complies with ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing, meets the biosafety standards for medical materials set forth by the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and is registered under Drug Master File (DMF No. 19659). It offers exceptional medical safety performance and is suitable for use in intravenous infusion devices that come into direct contact with the human body.
- Superior mechanical properties. Compared to the previous-generation Purell PE 3020D LDPE product, the PE 3220D offers superior performance, with a tensile modulus of 430 MPa—43% higher than that of the 3020D—resulting in finished products that are more resistant to puncture and impact; its Vicat softening temperature reaches 110°C, making it suitable for sterilization methods involving higher temperatures.
