Grilamid TR 55 is highly transparent nylon material produced by EMS-Grivory. As a new-generation high-performance polymer, EMS TR 55 PA 12 offers excellent optical properties, as well as resistance to fuel, chemical solvents, abrasion, scratches, and stress cracking. It also is suitable for food contact and medical applications, making it a highly versatile material.

Grilamid TR 55 PA12 is a highly transparent nylon material. As shown in the image on the left, its transparency is similar to that of PMMA resin, and it is cylindrical in shape.

EMS Grilamid TR 55 PA 12 / MACMI Advantage

Excellent transparency, EMS TR 55 is transparent nylon material formed by the copolymerization of PA 12 and MACMI (a derivative of m-xylene diamine and adipic acid). Its amorphous structure gives the material excellent transparency and light transmission (Transparency is 87% at a test thickness of 3 mm); its optical properties even surpass those of polycarbonate (PC, transparency 87%) and approach those of PMMA (transparency 91%). Meanwhile, its abrasion resistance and resistance to chemical solvents also surpass those of traditional polymer materials.
Excellent mechanical properties. As a new-generation high-performance polymer, EMS Grilamid TR 55 PA12 delivers outstanding performance in terms of tensile strength and long-term creep resistance. Compared to other nylon materials, TR 55 PA12 has lower water absorption and moisture absorption rates, resulting in finished products with excellent dimensional stability, making it ideal for the production of precision parts.
Medical grade material. Grilamid TR 55 PA 12 / MACMI material offers excellent biocompatibility and has been certified under USP Class VI,ISO 10993andFDAfor drug contact, making it suitable for general medical device applications.
Food contact plastic. EMS TR 55 transparent nylon 12 meets FDA and EU food contact certification requirements. The material offers excellent food contact safety performance and is suitable for applications involving direct contact with food.
