TOSOH SUSTEEL GS-40 11A3 GF40 PPS Description

SUSTEEL GS-40 11A3 is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resin manufactured by Japan TOSOH Corporation. It contains 40% glass fiber reinforcement and is also known as GF40 PPS material. This material is designed for general-purpose applications, features low flash, and produces finished products with excellent appearance and performance.

SUSTEEL GS-40 11A3 GF40 PPS resin is manufactured at TOSOH Corporation’s plant in Japan. It is available in two standard colors: natural and black. As shown in the image on the left, the black PPS material consists of opaque black pellets that are roughly hemispherical in shape.

Because it contains 40% glass fiber, the material has a distinctly rough texture.

GF40 PPS material, TOSOH GS-40 11A3 contains 40% glass fiber (GF40 PPS), compared to unfilled PPS resin, offers superior heat resistance, dimensional stability, and strength. Its tensile strength reaches 170 MPa, and its flexural modulus reaches 14.5 GPa, far exceeding that of conventional plastic materials,making it more suitable for use in demanding applications.
Low flash. TOSOH GS-40 11A3 GF40 PPS material offers further improvements in processability, with melt flow index (MFI) of 22 g/10 min and bar flow length of 170 mm, effectively reducing flash defects in finished products (as shown in the figure below).
