 BASF Ultramid C3U PA 66/6 Description 

Ultramid C3U is UL94 V-0 flame-retardant alloy of nylon 66 and nylon 6 produced by BASF SE. It is free of halogens and phosphorus-based compounds and offers inherent high-temperature resistance, making it suitable for electronic components that require high-performance insulation, such as jack connectors.

  • UL 94 V-0 flame retardant nylon. BASF C3U PA 66/6 material inherently possesses excellent flame-retardant properties, achieving UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant performance even in a 0.4 mm thickness test environment, making it an exceptional flame-retardant material for thin-walled applications. In addition, this material is free of halogens and phosphorus-based compounds, meeting stringent environmental requirements.
  • High performance nylon. BASF Ultramid C3U is made from a blend of nylon 66 and nylon 6,It effectively addresses the issues associated with nylon 66—such as poor low-temperature toughness, high cost, and high processing temperatures—as well as those associated with nylon 6—such as high moisture absorption, poor dimensional stability, and insufficient heat resistance and strength, Ideal for applications requiring cost-effectiveness and ease of processing, such as circuit breakers, connectors, and power tool housings.
  • Good insulated propertie. As a PA 66/6 alloy specifically designed for electrical components, BASF C3U has a volume resistivity of 1E9, a surface resistivity of 1E12, and a comparative tracking index (CTI) of 600 V. Moderate insulation performance, suitable for small electrical components with general requirements
