Makrolon 2456 is a food-grade polycarbonate (PC) manufactured by Covestro AG. It is certified under FDA Class 21 for food contact, has a melt volume rate of 19 cm³/10 min, and is suitable for injection molding equipment used in the production of thin-walled, complex, and food-contact applications.

Makrolon 2456 food-grade PC offers balanced performance characteristics, with a tensile modulus of 2400 MPa and a flexural modulus of 2350 MPa, The Charpy notched impact strength is 65 kJ/m² under test conditions of 23°C and 3 mm; it offers moderate strength and impact resistance, making it suitable for the vast majority of applications.
- Good processability. Covestro Makrolon 2456 food-grade PC has a melt volume rate (MVR) of 19 cm³/10 min under test conditions of 300°C and 1.2 g/cm². Its high melt flow rate and low viscosity facilitate the production of thin-walled and complex products.
