Sabic Valox 357 PC/PBT alloy Description
Valox 357 is polycarbonate and Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) blend material, also known as"PC+PBT"or"PC/PBT"material produced by Saudi basic industry corporation for electrical equipment. This material offers excellent impact resistance and flame-retardant properties, achieving UL94 V-0 at 0.63 mm and 5VA at 3.0 mm. It is ideal for electronic components that require heat dissipation, impact resistance, and temperature resistance, such as spools, switches, and appliance housings.

- Excellent flame-retardant properties, As a polymer material specifically designed for use in electronic and electrical equipment, Sabic Valox 357 PC/PBT offers excellent temperature resistance, with a heat deflection temperature of 138°C at a test thickness of 6 mm and a test pressure of 0.45 MPa. Additionally, it achieves UL94 V-0 flame retardancy at a test thickness of just 0.63 mm. It is ideal for manufacturing products that require effective heat dissipation or generate high heat.
- Excellent impact resistance. PBT is a relatively brittle material with a notched impact strength of only 3–5 kJ/m². By blending PC and PBT, Valox 357 effectively preserves the excellent properties of PBT while simultaneously enhancing the material’s impact resistance. In a test environment at 23°C, the notched Izod impact strength is 534 J/m, which is significantly higher than that of standard PBT materials, making it suitable for use in power adapters that require impact resistance.
- High insulation performance. Sabic Valox 357 PC/PBT blend material offers insulation properties comparable to those of PBT, with a volume resistivity of 1.2E+16, making it suitable for applications with high insulation requirements, such as switches and cable reels.
