INEOS Terlux HD 2802 MABS Description

Terlux HD 2802 is a methyl acrylate-acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (MABS material) produced by INEOS Styrolution. It offers excellent transparency, chemical resistance, flexibility, and attractive appearance properties. With a melt index of 2g/cm³, it is suitable for injection molding processes. INEOS HD 2802 MABS material meets biocompatibility requirements and can be used to produce components for the medical device industry.

The Terlux 2802 transparent MABS material we supply comes from the BASF Chemical plant in Germany. As shown in the image on the left, it is in the form of nearly ellipsoidal granules and is transparent in color.

As an ABS material specifically designed for medical applications, Terlux 2802 MABS has been certified to meet the biocompatibility requirements of the U.S. FDA 21 CFR,U.S. Pharmacopeia Class VI, and ISO 10993. The material offers exceptional safety for medical applications and can be used with confidence.
Transparent ABS. Unlike conventional ABS materials, INEOS 2802 MABS offers exceptional light transmission, achieving 89% transmittance at 4mm thickness under test conditions with only 3% haze. It is ideal for applications demanding high transparency and light transmission, such as transparent appliance housings, clear toys, and lampshades.
Balanced mechanical properties. INEOS HD 2802 MABS exhibits performance characteristics nearly identical to conventional ABS, featuring excellent impact resistance. In a 23°C test environment, its notched Charpy impact strength reaches 5 kJ/m², while its unnotched Charpy impact strength achieves 120 kJ/m². This material is suitable for applications demanding high external impact resistance, such as toys and appliance housings.
