Sabic Lexan 500R-739 PC Description
Lexan 500R is a 10% glass fiber-reinforced polycarbonate (GF10 PC) material manufactured by the Sabic innovation plastic (Nansha). It meets UL 94 V-0 and 5VA flame-retardant standards and offers a combination of properties including flexural modulus, impact strength and flame retardancy.

The pellet form of the Lexan 500R-739 FR PC material, as shown in the figure on the left, consists of cylindrical pellets that are opaque black; due to the presence of glass fibers, the surface of the PC pellets is not smooth.
Sabic Lexan 500R-739 PC pellets Advantage
- GF10 PC material, Sabic 500R-739 polycarbonate is reinforced with 10% glass fiber, giving it superior strength and heat resistance compared to standard PC materials. It has a flexural modulus of 3,440 MPa and a Vicat softening temperature of 154°C, far exceeding those of unfilled PC materials.
- UL 94 V-0 Flame retardant. Sabic Lexan 500R-739 PC achieves UL 94 V-0 flame retardancy at 1.52 mm and 5VA flame retardancy at 3.04 mm, making it ideal for applications with extremely high flame retardancy requirements, such as automotive parts and engineering components.
- Excellent impact resistance. Sabic 500R-739 PC achieves an Izod unnotched impact strength of 2,136 J/m and an Izod notched impact strength of 106 J/m,[1] offering more than twice the impact resistance of unfilled PC. It is suitable for applications with high impact resistance requirements, such as security copolymers, industrial equipment, and protective covers.
